Anne Ryan – Author/Illustrator
A Question of Creativity?

 

Anne Ryan is an author, illustrator, artist and art educator who grew up in Ballarat, regional Victoria. Anne trained as a secondary art teacher and has taught tertiary, secondary, primary and early childhood programs. Her first commission for children’s books was for a series of educational chapter books published by Maryann Ballantyne at Black Dog Books called ‘Sybil Investigates’ and ‘Sybil TV Journalist‘ written by Carole Wilkinson.

Anne’s first author/illustrator picture book, called ‘Unforeseen Circumstances’ (2006), was published by Lothian Books. More recently Anne illustrated a picture book, entitled ‘Shadowcat'(written by Julia Louise), with Editor Karen Tayleur at The Five Mile Press. In April this year she attended the International Bologna Children’s Book Fair with the Australian Stand and worked on the creator’s table as an illustrator showcasing her latest works.

 Ann James and Ann Haddon from Books Illustrated invited Anne Ryan to work on the creator’s table as an illustrator showcasing her latest works.

Anne will discuss the opportunities for Illustrators at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair including the Directory Catalogue, Illustrator’s Annual, Illustrator’s Cafe,Creator’s table, Illustrators exhibition, Illustrators Wall and Author/ illustrators Talks and presentations.
